About Me
I am a teacher who has a passion of creating pretty and functional items that may be used in everyday life. I give my 110% effort in everything that I do be it in teaching, volunteering, crafting, gardening or just being a plain mom.
I've always been surrounded with art that my mother made. She used these items to decorate the house. She embroidered seat covers for our wooden living room set, crocheted curtains hanging on the window, tatted doilies for the coffee table, etc. Our front yard was filled with plants that bears flowers when I was growing up. As a small child, I loved helping my mother take care of the plants and water them in the early morning before we go to school. Now, that frontyard is filled with different species of orchid plants that flowers all year round. It is truly an art worth looking at everyday only nature can deliver.
At a very young age, I Ioved creating items that are functional. I went to an agricultural school where we spend 4 hours everyday in home economics from making bags and purses out of coconut shells or making doilies out of seeds from a popular tree, to cooking and planning a banquet and implementing the plan to designing a restaurant's lay-out. Indeed, it was all worth it in the end.
I now create one-of-a-kind beaded jewelry, crochet all kinds of items, re-cycles items and make them functional again, cook for family and friends and the constant love affair with plants.
In life, I always think of this passage from Ralph Waldo Emerson:
"To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children; to earn the approbation of honest citizens and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to give of one's self; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.....this is to have succeeded"
I am married and have two children. I love my family, my faith, my country and loyal to my friends.
